Meeting friends under the threat of coronavirus

Due to the outbreak of the coronavirus, people stay at their home most of the time to reduce the chance of suffering from the disease in the community. People may do things repeatedly at home so they may feel bored. People may want to meet friends to chat or play after staying at home alone for a long time. However, it is difficult for people to meet friends. Cinema and shopping mall may be not an ideal place as people may face a lot of people which increasing the chance of being infected virus. Therefore, going to one’s home may be safer. What have been done to ensure the hygiene of the buildings? What can people do in the house? How do they feel when meeting friends after a long period of time?


Fung Kwun Tung, 20, students, is giving tutorial class to her student through social media. She is also the house owner. She said that she felt bored staying at home alone so she invited friends to go to her home.


These posters attracts residents as they are stuck on the column in front of the entrance of the lobby to remind the residents. There are also a rubbish bin under the arrow for residents to throw masks.


Not only both sides of the lift buttons panels, but also lift buttons in the floor are covered by a layer of plastic. There are some reminders telling the residents not to use keys to press the buttons and the panels were sanitized.


Although Fung's friends live very close, they still wore masks to go to her home.


Leung Kwan Ho, 19, student, said that he felt excited to play games with friends after a long time. He also hoped that the outbreak of coronavirus can end soon so he does not need to wear mask to go out.


It is uncomfortable to wear mask in the house so they removed their masks then.


Playing mahjong game is not suggested during the outbreak of coronavirus since droplet infection may occur easily. People were sitting around a small table and sitting each other closely. However, they believed that none of them was infected and they really wanted to play.


Before playing mahjong games, all the mahjongs were cleaned by wet towel as the people played last time may left their spatters on them.


Ho Tsz Yau,20, student, won the game at that round. She said she was happy to spend most of the day with friends rather than staying at home and winning the game.


They called for food delivery since they believed that eating outside may have a higher chance of being infected.


Ho was washing her hands with soap immediately after sneezing when they are playing game.


The windows in the house opened all the time to ventilate the house when people have indoor activities.
